Bye bye appendix

Sunday I woke up with a sore tummy, and then the soreness migrated so that it was localized to the lower right hand side of my abdomen. I called my doc, who told me to go to the emergency room of Strong Hospital (not a fun place). The docs were puzzled about my symptoms because people with appendicitis usually have a fever and bad nausea and I didn't. But a cat scan revealed an infected appendix and they took it out that night.

Modern medicine is a wonderful thing and all it took was a few little cuts to get that baby out. Afterward, I had a remarkable roommate to chat with to pass the time. I was home less than 24 hours after the pain started.

Unfortunately I need to take some pain medicine and it makes me woozy and tired. It's a real challenge to write this post. So I'm going to take a break from blogging -- shall return in a few days.
